Richard Skaggs, 62 of Greenwood, passed away on July 20, 2024.He was born on August 25, 1961, to Norman D. and Velma E. (Fitzpatrick) Skaggs. They preceded him in passing. Richard was a graduate of Indian Creek High School. Richard was a Merit Deputy with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department from December 2, 1985, to January 29, 2012. He also worked as a Road Deputy, Motorcycle Officer, and a Detective as well. He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 105, F & A M. He loved his dog, Joker; loved spending time in his garage and feeding the neighbors’ dogs’ bones. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rest Haven Cemetery, 650 Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, Indiana 46124.Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of Indiana, 10255 Commerce Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032 or to the Johnson County Animal Shelter, 2160 Graham Road, Franklin, Indiana 46131.Expressions of caring and kindness may be received to the family at www.flinnmaguire.net
