Ronnie Lee Burton, 81, of Mt. Auburn, IN, passed away from this life at 9:40 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2024, at home peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Edinburgh, IN, on September 9, 1943. He is the son of the late Henry Thomas Burton and Narie “Evelyn” Coffey Burton. He married Ida “Genette” Corbin Burton on February 1, 1964.Ronnie is survived by his three sons: Marty, Randy (April), Brent (Amanda) all of Edinburgh; three grandchildren: Alyssa (Jesse) – caregivers, Cole (Abbie), Corbin; five step grandchildren: Blake (Autumn), Shelby (Cameron), Jaelah, Elijah, Gavin; five great grandchildren: Landon, Nolan, Xander, Alayna, Ivy; and three step great grandchildren: Dax, Charli, Arrow; two brothers: Gary Burton (Judy) of Louisville, KY and Greg Burton (Roseanne) of Mt. Auburn, IN; two sisters: Audrey Burton (Harold) of Columbia, KY and Sharon Burton of North Vernon, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Genette, a son James Thomas Burton, a brother Freddy Burton and a sister Brenda Keith. Ronnie grew up in Columbia, KY. After he married, he made his life here in Edinburgh, IN, and was employed at Arvins in Franklin, IN for 41 years. He was a hard-working man who took great pride in being dedicated to his family, always putting their needs above his own. He loved to hunt and fish with his three sons and found joy building and working on houses along with them. He was a man of many hobbies including making ceramics with his wife, caring for animals, spending time in nature and tinkering around the house. While he often had a serious demeanor, he had such a playful and silly side. He loved to make people laugh and to have a good time. Ronnie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Who So Ever Will Community Church located at 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, Indiana, 46124. Reverend Michael Corbin will officiate the service. Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the church. Mr. Burton will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh. Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Funeral Care, Edinburgh.
