Larry Bergeron Badger-C-14-1

Larry Gene Bergeron, 70, of Columbus, passed on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He was born in Columbus on January 20, 1954, to Ben and Ruth Burton. They preceded him in death. Larry was kind, generous, compassionate and giving to all human beings. He never ever turned away a person in need. He had a fabulous sense of humor and knew how to make you laugh. He was an incredibly loving and loyal Father and friend. He was one of a kind. Larry was able to touch many peoples’ lives with his generosity and wisdom and was known as “Unc” to loved ones and friends. People just wanted to be related to him. His greatest gifts were his humbleness and his ability to make people feel loved, adored, accepted, and heard. Larry loved gardening and took so much pride in his yard. He grew tomatoes and loved planting flowers and trees. He enjoyed playing pool and poker. He was a very talented baseball and basketball player. He had a successful building company called Casa Builders in San Antonio, TX, Columbus, IN, and Columbia, KY. He built gorgeous quality homes with character. He had a jewelry store and gas station in Columbia, KY. He also collected cars and loved corvettes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Osby, Charlene, Lois, Liz, Wanda, Eva, Barbara, and Lana. Surviving are the love of his life and mother of his children, Norma Bergeron; his loving children, Oscar (Susie) Gutierrez and Gina Gutierrez, all of San Antonio, TX, Lisa Gutierrez of Pawling, NY, Todd Bergeron of Columbus, Jennifer (Larry) Furtsch of Scotrun, PA, and Seth (Julia) Bergeron of Columbus; grandchildren, Erica, Matthew, Leslie, Justin, Brandon, Allison, Markus, and Damian; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Wyatt, Greyson, and Olivia. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 – 4 PM Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Myers-Reed Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, December 30, 2024, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Rev. Clement T. Davis as celebrant.
